Christopher Smoker
Mr. Christopher Martin “Marty” Smoker, age 53, passed away at his home on Thursday July 17, 2025.
Marty was born in Surry County on October 8, 1971 to Steve Martin and Sharon Frye Smoker.
Marty was an avid woodsman working with lumber companies for years and achieved the status of a lumber grader. He loved motorcycles and rode his entire life. He loved Halloween and all things spooky, reflected by his tattoos he chose. Marty never met a stranger or critter that he didn’t like or that didn’t like him. We are all saddened that he left us behind but grateful for his presence. He left us all better people for having known him.
In addition to his parents, Marty was also preceded in death by his grandfather Wilson “Tootsi” McBride; an uncle Ronnie McBride; an aunt Susan Church; and a grandmother Carlene McBride Cloer.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Regina Smoker of the home; a step-son Andrew Bealor of Elkin; a sister Amber (Edward) Shreve of Elkin; a niece Jessica Toliver; two great-nephews; a cousin Brian Church; and an uncle Gary Church.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday August 9, 2025 from 5pm till dusk at the Jonesville Greenway Park.
