Chuck was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran.
In September of 1956, Chuck, known to his employees and friends as “Bud”, founded The Ohio Broach & Machine Company. He started the company on the East Side of Cleveland in his father’s garage. As it grew from sharpening tools, he guided his business into designing, manufacturing, and marketing its own line of broaching equipment, the “Ohio” broaching machine. With continued growth in all areas of the company, it moved to Willoughby, Ohio in 1974. The company continued to expand and became a worldwide supplier of broach cutting tools and machines.
Chuck loved golf and his summer fishing trips to Canada’s Chiniguchi Lake. He was also active in the Gates Mills Players as an actor and building sets for various plays. He enjoyed tending to his rose garden, took pleasure in watching the many birds in his backyard, and loved his many dogs and cats. On his 75th wedding anniversary, Chuck went home to meet the Lord, and Jeanette was there waiting with open arms.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions in memory of Chuck to:
