Charles Shriver

Charles Shriver Jr. peacefully passed away in Wichita, Kansas on April 22, 2025. Affectionately known as “Chip,” he lived a life that was as vibrant as a blue Kansas sky. Born on December 15, 1965, in Saint Joseph, Missouri, Charles was a beacon of reliability and a reservoir of wisdom. From his thoughtful contemplations to his smart and quick wit, Charles was the embodiment of a quote by Albert Einstein: “Creativity is intelligence having fun.”

In his 59 years, Charles made the town of Wellington, Kansas his home, where he was known for his talent as a Hammer Operator and Supervisor in the Aircraft industry. A widower, Charles never let the music die within him; his love for playing the guitar was infectious and created numerous memories.

Charles leaves behind his loving mother, Earline Shriver, and his precious daughter, Demi Shriver, who will forever cherish his memory. He now joins his beloved wife, Virgilena Shriver, and his father, Charles Sr., in the company of the stars.

In accordance to Chip’s wishes, there will be no formal services as cremation has taken place.

Memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Bryce Day Memorial Foundation. Donations may be mailed or left with the funeral home.

As we remember Charles, we’re reminded of the words of Mark Twain: “The secret of getting ahead is getting started.” Charles was a man who got started, across all fronts. He created, he loved, and he lived. His memories are melodies that will continue to play in the hearts of those who loved him.
