Charles (Chuck) Goll peacefully passed away in Seattle, Washington on June 2, 2025 in the presence of his wife.
Chuck was born on June 25, 1928 in Blue Hill Nebraska to Carl Oscar Goll and Lottie Lorena (Colby) Goll. His childhood and youth were spent on the family farm or in the town of Blue Hill, filling his life with richness and a sense of adventure.
Upon graduation from high school in Blue Hill, Chuck enlisted in the Navy in 1946 to see the world outside of Nebraska. During his enlistment he played baseball for the Navy in Pearl Harbor and finished his Navy career stationed in Washington, DC. Following his Honorable Discharge from the Navy in 1952, Chuck attended Colorado A&M (now Colorado State) and in 1955 graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Forest Utilization.
After graduating from college, Chuck began working at the Weyerhaeuser Company and traveled the country as a plant fixer and problem-solver. He eventually retired after 25 years as an Executive Vice President. Wanting to stay busy, Chuck formed a consulting company, Executive Dynamics, and provided corporate training, strategic planning, and team building workshops throughout the United States and Canada. Additionally, he was a business instructor at Heritage University, in Toppenish Washington, and shared his knowledge and wisdom with the next generation of college graduates.
Chuck was an accomplished woodworker and built custom cabinets and furniture and turned a manufactured home into his and his wife’s dream home in Yakima. Taking great pride in the ranch on Harmony Hill, he was often seen riding on his John Deere tractor taking care of the 35-acre property. Amazingly, he only slowed down in the year or so before he and his wife, Lee, moved back to the greater Seattle area.
Throughout his life, Chuck achieved so much and left a lasting, positive impact on everyone he met. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, a caring brother, and a loyal friend.
Chuck was preceded in death by his sister Dorothy Ann Goll, brother Carroll Leon Goll, and son Matthew Goll. He is survived by his wife Lee Denise Goll, his accumulated children who looked to him as a father: Beth Abrahamson, Kati Zwieg, Suzanne Tandeski, Sara Johnson, Ryan Touchon, Kari Edwards, Rebecca Willie, and Jessica Taylor, and numerous grand and great grand-children.
He will be deeply missed.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to Camp Hope of Yakima (https://camphopeyakima.com/donate/) to honor his legacy of supporting his community.
A memorial open house will be held in Kent Washington on Sunday, June 29th. Please email xerxes5828@gmail.com for details.
