Carson City Power outage: 1,800 residents in the dark Thursday night

As of 10 p.m. Thursday night, over 1,800 residents are without power according to Nv Energy.

The cause of the outage is under investigation.

There is no known time for when the power might come back on as of 11:30 p.m.

In Reno, scattered outages were also reported, though none affecting as many customers in a single location like in Carson City.

Around 200 customers are affected in the area around Koontz Lane, while the remaining 1,600 seem to be around the downtown area just south of 5th Street.
