Carson City sheriff’s weekend bookings include arrests for assault, domestic battery, DUI

A 48-year-old man was arrested June 7 for suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report.
Benjamin C. Cole, was taken into custody at 3:05 p.m. in the 600 block of Old Clear Creek Road. He was also booked for suspicion of misdemeanor drawing a deadly weapon in a threatening manner.
According to the report, deputies were dispatched to Fuji Park for a report of a man threatened with a knife. Dispatch advised of the description. Officers arrived and located the suspect, who was ordered to stand up with his hands visible. The man was compliant and placed into handcuffs. He was later identified as Benjamin Cole.
The deputy notes that upon approach, there was a large fixed-blade knife with a 12-inch blade and orange handle next to him, and a half-pint bottle of whiskey, which was mostly gone.
Deputies made contact with the vicim who stated he had sat down in the covered seating area of the park to have lunch. He said his dog walked away from him and he called his dog back to him.
The victim stated the man rolled out from behind the tree with a large fixed-blade knife, with an orange handle, stabbed the tip of the blade into the ground and shouted “I’m going to kill you, ni**er,” and then told him, “if you say anything, I will kill you.”
The victim said he was fearful for his life and believed the man had the capability and intent to carry out the threats. The victim stated he retreated to a different area of the park for his safety and called for law enforcement assistance, the report states.
Upon further inspection of the fixed-blade knife next to the suspect, there was dirt stuck up to the end of the blade on both sides, indicating the tip of the blade had been stabbed into the ground, the report states.
The suspect was placed under arrest. He was read his rights and advised he understood his rights. He advised he did not wish to speak. Bail: $15,000.
In other arrests:
— A 27-year-old man was arrested June 6 for suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report.
Deputies were called at around 2:10 p.m. to a Lone Mountain Drive apartment regarding a domestic battery.
A CCSO sergeant advised the investigating deputy that there was a domestic battery between the 27-year-old man and his father. As deputies escorted the suspect out of the residence he began resisting officers.
Deputies spoke with the father who stated he and his son got into an argument regarding his son’s drinking and cussing in front of children in the home. He stated he told his son to stop cussing in front of the kids and when he did, his son got into his face and began screaming at him. He stated the son then put his hands on his neck and pulled him to the ground with force, where he fell to the ground and landed on his “bad knee.” The deputy observed the knee being swollen and red.
Deputies interviewed witnesses who stated the 27-year-old was yelling at his father, grabbed him by his neck and threw him to the ground.
The suspect was read his Miranda rights and refused to speak with deputies, the report states. He was arrested and booked for suspicion of domestic battery. Bail: $3,137.
— A 37-year-old Carson City woman was arrested June 7 for suspicion of domestic battery. Deputies were dispatched at around midnight for a domestic battery. Deputies arrived and met with the victim, who said the woman and him got into a verbal argument, where she hit him in the face several times. Deputies observed a small amount of blood on the man’s left cheek, consistent with his statement to deputies.
Officers spoke with another person involved who said when she attempted to stop the fight, the suspect then hit her on the left side of her lip and pulled her hair from her head. The victim had redness on her left lip, consistent with her statement. The victim then showed the deputy where the suspect had pulled her hair out. The deputy observed brown hair on the floor that matched the hair color of the victim.
Deputies then spoke with the suspect who advised there was an argument with the male, that it got physical, saying they began pushing each other, when the other female walked in and hit the male. She initially claimed the man hit her, then said nobody punched her, and said several times that she did not know exactly what happened and to take her to jail. The woman was arrested for suspicion of domestic battery. $3,137.
— A 27-year-old Carson City woman was arrested June 7 for suspicion of domestic battery. According to the booking report, deputies were dispatched to a domestic battery where the woman reportedly punched a man in the face during an argument.
Deputies arrived at the same time as Carson City Fire Department, who responded to the injured man. Deputies spoke with the woman and asked what happened. She said she and the man were arguing over her personal items. She said her stuff goes missing all the time and said he takes stuff from her. The deputy asked if the argument ever became physical and she said no, the report states.
Deputies met with the man and asked what happened. He said he and the woman were arguing over a multi-tool he was using and said the woman got on top of him so he pushed her away.
He said the woman scratched his arm and punched him in the face. The deputy could see a red swollen bump under his right eye. The deputy asked him how she hit him. He said she punched him in the eye with her left hand. The deputy took photos of the man’s face and the scratch on his left arm with a small amount of blood.
The deputy spoke with the woman again and asked what happened during the argument because the deputy saw a red bump on the man’s eye. She said she lied about the argument becoming physical. She did not admit that she punched the man in the face but said they were pushing each other. The deputy asked the woman if they could see her hands. The woman had a small cut on her left index finger, consistent with striking the man in the left eye, the report states.
Due to similar stories and consistency with injuries, the woman was determined to be the primary aggressor and was arrested. Bail: $3,137.
— A 52-year-old Carson City man was arrested June 7 for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance. Bail: $2,500.
— A 33-year-old Carson City woman, April Gieke, was arrested June 6 for a felony warrant alleging child abuse/neglect. The warrant was issued June 2, 2025 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $50,000.
— A 45-year-old Carson City woman was arrested June 6 in the area of Washington and North Valley for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $2,500.
— A 39-year-old Carson City woman was arrested June 6 for a misdemeanor warrant alleging violation of domestic violence temporary protection order. Bail: $3,000.
— A 55-year-old Carson City woman was arrested June 6 for misdemeanor warrant alleging two counts violation of bail conditions and contempt of court. Bail: $9,000 cash.
— A 40-year-old Silver Springs woman was arrested June 6 for two misdemeanor outside agencies warrants issued out of Dayton Township Court. Bail: $1,000 cash.
— A 46-year-old Carson City Stagecoach man booked into jail June 6 for a misdemeanor failure to appear warrant issued April 9, 2025 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $3,000 cash.
— A 79-year-old man was arrested June 7 for misdemeanor Department of Alternative Sentencing violation. He was cited for disorderly conduct. DAS advised he be placed on hold for violation of bail/supervision. Bail: $3,000 cash.
— A 36-year-old Carson City man was arrested June 7 for suspicion of misdemeanor drunken pedestrian, obstructing/resisting and a warrant out of Storey County.
According to the booking report, a deputy was dispatched to the front of a North Carson Street casino after a man was asked to leave the property. The man left and was walking in and out of traffic on Carson Street.
A CCSO deputy located the man on the northeast corner of Robinson Street on the sidewalk standing. The man was asked why he was standing in traffic. The man, who had a wheelchair with him, said he was hit by a car. He had thick slurred speech and red, watery eyes. He was walking normal and there were no visible injuries to the man. The deputy asked for the man’s name. He provided a name, which dispatch could not locate anyone with that name.
The man began to walk away from the deputy. He was told to sit down. The man sat in the wheelchair, the report states.
The officer asked again why he was in the roadway. The man rolled the wheelchair away from the officer on the sidewalk multiple times. The deputy told the man he wasn’t going anywhere because they were trying to figure out what was going on.
The deputy told the man to come back and sit down on the planter. The man said he needed help. The officer told him that he was just seen walking in the roadway. The man would not comply. The man then stood up and got into the deputy’s face. The man was told to sit down on the planter. He would not comply, the report states.
The man took a fighting position. The deputy grabbed the man’s left arm and attempted to sweep his leg when the man pulled away and fell on his stomach and chest onto the sidewalk. Deputies attempted to grab the man, who resisted. The deputy was concerned the man was going for the deputy’s weapon in his waistband. The man was tasered. He continued to resist and was arrested for drunken pedestrian, obstructing/resisting. Deputies located his wallet and learned his name and did a wants and warrant check. The man had an active misdemeanor warrant out of Storey County.
Carson City Fire Department arrived to assess the man, who was taken to the hospital for evaluation. The deputy applied for a warrant with the Carson City District Attorney’s Office for a blood draw. It was approved by a Carson City judge. He was cleared from the hospital and taken to jail. Bail: $1,000.
— A 41-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Sunday, June 8, 6:22 p.m. in the 500 block of William Street for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $2,500.
— A 30-year-old Carson City man was arrested June 8 for suspicion of DUI. According to the booking report, at around 3:18 a.m., a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with no license plate light. Deputies made contact with the driver and passenger.
The deputy could smell an odor of alcohol coming from inside the vehicle. The driver’s eyes were watery and bloodshot and his speech was thick, the report states. The driver admitted to drinking four beers at around 10 p.m.
The deputy requested the man exit the vehicle and submit to field sobriety tests. The man complied. He showed signs of impairment on the tests and was arrested for suspicion of DUI. He agreed to submit to evidentiary tests. He submitted to two consecutive breath samples with results of .119 and .114. Bail: $1,137.
— A 25-year-old Carson City man was arrested for suspicion of gross misdemeanor possession of a firearm without a serial number. Bail: $2,500.
— A 30-year-old man was arrested Sunday, June 8, 7:19 p.m. for two misdemeanor warrants, violation of a suspended sentence and contempt of court. The warrants were issued May 22 and May 23, 2025 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $6,000 cash.
— A 45-year-old Carson City woman was arrested June 7 for suspicion of gross misdemeanor violation of a temporary protection order (TPO) for stalking/harassment and resisting a public officer.
According to the booking report a deputy was dispatched to the 1800 block of Karin Drive for a court order violation. Dispatch confirmed there was an active TPO against the woman. Dispatch was advised by the man who had the TPO against the woman that she was locked inside of a bedroom and that there were two handguns in the residence and he was unable to locate them.
The deputy made contact with the woman inside the residence, and called for her to come out of the bedroom to the living room area. Deputies were unaware if the woman was armed at the time of contact. She emerged from the bedroom with her hands up. As she walked out of the room she stated she knew she was going to jail, the report states.
As a deputy approached and attempted to grab her right arm, informing her she was under arrest, the woman instantly tensed up and pulled her arm close to her body. She was placed into handcuffs.
She began yelling profanities at the man. The woman was instructed to get into the back of the patrol vehicle. She refused and prolonged getting inside, the report states. As a deputy attempted to pull the woman into the vehicle, she turned toward the officers, where they observed the woman slipping out of her right cuff, which allowed her right hand to become free.
Deputies regained control and placed her in cuffs. She provided a preliminary breath test of .215. She was taken to the hospital for medical clearance and booked for violation of a temporary protection order for stalking/harassment and resisting an officer. Bail: $2,000.
— A 42-year-old Carson City woman, Jennifer Willis, was arrested June 7 for suspicion of felony embezzlement.
According to the booking report, deputies were called to the area of College Parkway and Goni Road in reference to a stolen U-Haul that was located by a CCSO sergeant.
The sergeant initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, which was occupied by a woman who identified her self as Willis. She was detained for further investigation of the reported stolen vehicle. A deputy asked if she had any ID with her and she stated she did not and that she left it in her motel room.
She was informed of the reason for the stop. She stated she had been in contact with U-Haul and had been paying for extensions because she needed the vehicle for longer. She was read her Miranda rights by the sergeant. She agreed to speak.
A deputy asked if she had any proof she paid U-Haul and she stated she did on her phone. While speaking with the woman, dispatch advised they contacted U-Haul’s corporate and that U-Haul stated no payments had been made toward the rental of the vehicle.
The deputy asked Willis if she could show a transaction that proved she paid U-Haul. She stated it was on her phone and gave the deputy consent to access Venmo. She showed the deputy two transactions on her Venmo account on April 24, 2025 and April 29, 2025 for $24 each. Corporate again confirmed they reported the vehicle as stolen and the woman was the individual who rented the vehicle. They also confirmed the woman had not made any payments to extend the rental, the report states.
The deputy informed the woman she was under arrest for suspicion of embezzlement of a vehicle. She stated she knew she should have returned the vehicle but it wasn’t just her fault. She then stated she knew it was her responsibility as she rented the vehicle so she was the only person to blame, the report states.
The deputy attempted to contact U-Haul to get the value of the vehicle. At the time of the call the business office was closed. The value of the vehicle, found on the internet, was $54,4820, which was the price for a used vehicle. Bail: $10,000.
