Every month, Carson City Park Rangers offer various ranger-led programs that include educational opportunities, historical fun and exciting adventures. All programs are offered for free and take place in one of the many Carson City parks and open space areas. Online Registration is often required so Park Rangers have a proper head count.
All programs are subject to cancellation due to Park Ranger availability; registered participants will be notified. You can find more information about each program by going here.

Meet at the Carson City Library on Friday, Nov. 14 2025 for read with a ranger where we will read and learn all about nocturnal animals!

Jr. Ranger Adventure Presents – Painting in the Park (New)*
Join the Carson City Park Rangers for our next Jr. Park Ranger Adventure Series – Painting in the Park! From the Cottonwood tree gallery to the open pasture fields under the wide open sky, let Carson River Park spark your creativity during this outdoor art adventure. Mini easels, canvases, acrylic paint, and brushes will be provided, but feel free to bring your favorite supplies. No experience needed – just bring your imagination.
We will meet at the Carson River Park pavilion where Rangers will be set up with all the painting supplies. Make sure to dress for the weather, bring plenty of water and snacks.
