Carson City deputies make DUI arrests
- June 3, 2025

A 38-year-old Oregon man was arrested early Tuesday for suspicion of DUI, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report.
At around 1:18 a.m., Carson City sheriff’s deputies were called to the area of Stewart and Roop streets after CCSO dispatch received information from a Douglas County Sheriff’s Office employee regarding a vehicle driving recklessly in the area of Carson and Fairview.
The vehicle was described as a dark blue pickup with lumber. The reporting party advised the vehicle nearly hit the reporting party multiple times and was unable to maintain lanes.
A deputy observed the pickup traveling northbound on Stewart Street near the intersection of Roop Street. The deputy pulled behind the vehicle as it approached Telegraph. The vehicle was driving between both northbound lanes, straddling the center divider. The deputy conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle for suspicion of DUI and made contact with the driver, the report states.
The deputy observed an open container and objective signs of alcohol intoxication, the report states. He was arrested and read the advisement to provide voluntary evidence. The driver consented to providing a breath sample. He blew a .195 and .160 on the evidentiary breath tests. Bail: $1,137.
In other arrests:
— A 53-year-old man was arrested Monday for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and two counts possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $2,500.
— A 36-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday, 9:52 a.m. for suspicion of DUI drugs.
According to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report, a deputy was observing traffic, while facing southbound on Fairview Drive when they saw a black sedan traveling northbound on Fairview with an estimated speed of 50 mph. The speed of the vehicle was confirmed on radar and locked at 50 mph in a 40 mph zone, the report states.
The deputy made contact with the driver of the vehicle. There was an odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle as the officer was speaking with the driver. While speaking, the deputy observed the man’s eyes were bloodshot and glossed over, the report states.
The man admitted to smoking marijuana approximately three hours from the time of the stop. He stated he took two hits and stated he does not smoke often. He willingly consented to standardized field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment on the tests, according to the report.
The deputy requested the man submit to a preliminary breath test. He voluntarily and freely submitted to the PBT with a result of .000. This confirmed he was only under the influence of marijuana or another narcotic, the report states.
Due to the man’s performance on the SFSTs, he was arrested for suspicion of DUI drugs. The man agreed to voluntarily submit to an evidentiary blood test. Bail: $1,140.
