John Czarnowski
- June 3, 2025

John Norbert Czarnowski was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 6, 1949, to Mary Olive “Charlotte” Czarnowski, nee Mortell (d 1994), and Bogdan Hillary Czarnowski (d 2005). He was the youngest of eight children: he was predeceased by siblings Mary Ann in 1958 (age 19), Jerome (Mary Claylene) in 2019 (age 73) and Gregory (Ethel (d) in 2021 (age 77); He is survived by siblings Mary Olive (Gus(d)) Michuda of Prospect Hts, IL; Mary Antoinette (Dan)Halloran of Sun Lakes, AZ; Mary Jeanette (William (d)) Weirath of Wheaton, IL, and Mary Regina Czarnowski of Chicago, Il. He is also survived by his 1st cousin, Helen Youell (Ray, d), of Palos Hts, IL.
John enjoyed his family and extended family of 18 Nieces and Nephews, and numerous Grand and Great Grand Nieces and Nephews.
John graduated from Marmion Military Academy of Aurora, Il (1967) and St. Joseph’s College of Rensselaer, Indiana (BS, Accounting, 1972). He worked as an accountant in Chicago until 1978, when he moved to Arizona. He then worked as an administrator in the Admissions Office at Arizona State University for 11 years, and also worked a second job for many years at Motorola, retiring from both about 1989. From that time, he spent his time with community volunteer work, and consulted for long periods with Toytronix of Scottsdale, AZ.
John was an active cyclist and power-walker, and known among his friends and family members for his generous and frequent use of his talents, knowledge and time on their behalf. If someone had something broken, he usually could fix it; if they needed something, he either had it for them, or would get it for them. If a family member needed his time, he gave it. John was a giver; never a taker, and was much beloved by his family, friends and neighbors. A treasured man who will be greatly missed by all of us.
