Boyd Brown

Boyd Olin Brown of Littleton, Colorado, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 2, 2025, at the age of 94 years old. He always said he was going to live to be 100; his mind was willing, but his body was not. In July 2024 he was diagnosed with cancer. His family was blessed to have him around for a little over a year longer.

Boyd was born on December 23, 1930, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Clarence Leroy and Thelma (Warner) Brown. He had a younger brother Keith, who he was very close to. Boyd joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints when he was almost 14 years old. After graduating from high school, he attended the University of Utah for a year and a half before serving his country during the Korean War. After his military service, Boyd went back to the University of Utah, earning his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. It was during a dance class at the university where he met his sweetheart, Lois Bennion. They married in the Salt Lake Temple on June 8th, 1956. They were married for 67 years at the time Lois passed away. Boyd and Lois lived in California, Utah, and Virginia before moving to Littleton, Colorado in 1967 where they lived for the remainder of their lives.

Boyd was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as a ward and a stake clerk and executive secretary for most of his adult life. He was very organized and loved serving in that capacity. Boyd loved family history and genealogy. He frequently worked on it during his free time. He enjoyed playing basketball in his youth. He was an early riser and loved to walk in the mornings. He also loved gardening. Boyd was a devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, and friend who will be greatly missed.

Boyd is survived by his children Steve B. Brown (Zuki), Kathryn B. Johnson (Gary), Karen B. Love (Dan), and Susan B. Van Halen (Rob). 17 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren.

Boyd is preceded in death by his wife, Lois (Bennion), Keith Brown (brother), Elizabeth Cramer Brown (daughter-in-law), and David James Love (grandson).
