In Loving Memory of Ben Cameron

Ben Cameron passed away peacefully on July 24, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He leaves behind a legacy of deep devotion, humor, resilience, and unconditional love. He was the beloved husband of Diane Ferrelli Cameron, his devoted partner of 53 years. Together, they built a family grounded in love, laughter, and loyalty.

Born on April 1, 1947, Ben lived a life marked by service, strength, and a deep commitment to the people he loved. Ben graduated from Evergreen High School in 1965. After graduation, he served in the Merchant Marines and later in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he began a long and dedicated career with Baker Commodities, retiring in 2013. Ben had a deep affection for his Baker Commodities family. He formed lifelong friendships with his coworkers and took pride in showing up every day and doing his job well. The camaraderie, loyalty, and shared laughs over the years meant the world to him. His colleagues weren’t just coworkers—they were extended family. He often spoke with warmth and gratitude about the people he worked with, including Mike Bulleri, Kathy Remick, Rick Olsen, Fred Roberts, Dick Henthorne, Arlene Poche, and the entire Anderoli family.

Ben loved the outdoors, especially steelhead and salmon fishing, and he was always happiest by the water or in the stands cheering on his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed football, casino trips, good wine, coffee at all times and treasured gatherings with family and friends. He proudly coached his son’s youth baseball teams and rarely missed a chance to support those he loved.

He was a proud and loving father to his son Andrew (Rebecca Jurcan Cameron), daughter Leah, and a deeply cherished grandfather to his grandchildren Gavin, Briar (Myka Carr), Quinn, Isla and Kenley. He is also survived by his siblings Ross Cameron and Valorie Waterman (Mike); his nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews—especially his “second sons” Trevor Waterman and Justin Cameron, whom he loved like his own. Ben was preceded by his parents George and Zenna Cameron; sister Georgia Russell; brother-in-law Bill Russell; nephew Clayton Russell; niece Delaina Russell; and beloved grandchildren Logan and Isla Cameron. He held each of them close in his heart.

Ben will be remembered for his grit, his kindness, his quick wit, and the deep love he had for his family. His memory lives on in the stories we tell, the values he passed down, and the love that will never fade. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
