Arne Wisse

Arne Pieter Wisse, age 22 of Bellingham, WA passed away at home on June 16, 2025. Born on April 27, 2003, in Vilvoorde, Belgium to his parents Jan and Melinda Wisse-Meyer, Arne was a beautiful soul who brought fun wherever he went. He and his three siblings grew up in Zaventem as missionary kids and grandkids with OM, where his parents and grandparents, Al and Julie Meyer served. His other set of grandparents André and Henny Wisse lived only an hour away in the Netherlands. Arne was a part of the Evangelical Church in Zaventem where he made a profession of faith and was baptized as a teenager.

He started his US adventure just before his 18th birthday and moved to Lynden, Washington in April 2021 where his great grandparents Peter and Esther Meyer and Sam and Nellie Elgersma had lived. He very quickly established his life here and after a few short-term jobs, started at Lowe’s Bellingham in November 2022 where he was very well liked by his co-workers and was known for his humor, jokes and mishaps. Arne will be remembered by all for his sense of adventure and spontaneity, his talent for breaking and fixing things, for his love of games both new and old, his technical abilities and for his art of creating.

His beautiful spirit with so much potential, crushed under the weight of hurt, was snuffed out way too soon.

Arne will be dearly missed by his parents Jan Wisse and Melinda Meyer; his siblings Annalena (Jordan), Andries (Rebekka), and Kassandra; his partner Rueben Ortiz; his large extended family and his friends.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 26 at 10am at Ten Mile Cemetery. After will be a memorial service at 11am at Sunrise Baptist Church (2480 W. Badger Rd, 98240), followed by a reception at the church.
