- May 31, 2025

Antonia Mirra, a wonderful and loving wife for 65 years, a devoted and caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2025. She was 84 years old.
Born in a small town on the eastern coast of Italy, she married at the age of 19 and voyaged by ship to the United States with her husband in 1960.
For 15 years, she lived in Little Italy in the Bronx, raising two children in a modest five-room, third-story walk-up apartment.
In 1975, realizing the American dream, she and her family moved into a home of their own in Harrison, New York. She filled that home with a fierce love for her husband and children.
She was an amazing cook, baker, and host. Food and drink were always plentiful—whether for immediate family or the entire neighborhood. Her compassion for others was evident, and her generosity was unrelenting.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Saverio; her son, Joseph, and his wife, Deborah; her daughter, Martha, and her husband, Anthony; her grandchildren; and her great-granddaughter.
Additionally, she is survived by her sister, Lisetta Colavito, age 91 residing in Italy.

Church followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Memorial donations may be sent to, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org, or The Bee Foundation, www.thebeefoundation.org.
