Anthony Lee Zaragoza,

44, of Martinez, CA, passed away on April 27, 2025. Born on September 19, 1980, in San Jose, CA

With heavy hearts and deep sadness we share the heartbreaking news of the unexpected passing of our sweet Anthony, beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, grandson, friend and dad to his beloved pit bull Dezzel.

Anthony deeply loved his family, he had a loving and caring soul, with a huge, kind heart. Always thinking of others and the first to want to help however he could.

To his family, he was Anthony, but to his friends he was Tony, his nickname was Tony Boloney, he even had a custom plate with Bologna on his car, that was his other baby.

He loved and cherished his faithful companion of 12 years, Dezzel, his pitbull, more than anything. Dezzel was everything to him, he was his best friend, his son. Dezzel was born on Mother’s Day in 2013, and from the moment Anthony set eyes on him, he knew he was his boy. They were inseparable.

Anthony enjoyed long walks with his dog, going to the farmers market, gardening, decorating his home for every holiday, completely color coordinated, it made him so happy, taco truck tacos and burritos, seafood, pizza (he would buy a large and make his side mushroom and jalapeños and Dezzels side all meat), McDonald’s French fries(he would buy Dezzel two cheeseburgers with no onions), and any kind of sour gummie candies. His favorite store was Ross, he loved finding special deals and little treasures, these are just some of his favorite things.

With his beautiful smile and sensitive nature, he had this way about him, always helping, always moving, making sure everyone was ok. He had a very special bond with all of his nieces and nephews. Nothing made him happier than spending time with them and finding treasures for them. He loved going Black Friday shopping the day after Thanksgiving, searching through the ads to see where they should all go first. His favorite family trips were always our Disneyland trips with everyone.

He was the one in the family that no matter what the event, or where we were, he wanted to help, he loved making sure everyone was ok, he always went above and beyond. He carried that work ethic over to his job. He gave his everything in anything he did. He was a little bit of a perfectionist, everything had its place and he would be the first to admit it.

He worked for Home Depot in Martinez, CA for 6 years where he worked in different departments learning and organizing, he enjoyed helping the customers. His favorite department was the garden area. He loved his plants, he had such a green thumb.

Anthony is proceeded in death by his big brother, David, who our family lost in 2020 during Covid. Our hearts were broken then, and now again with losing our sweet Anthony. Anthony was forever missing a piece of his heart after losing his brother and now they are together again.

He is also proceeded in death by his nephew, Leo, his uncle Dennis and his grandfather James.

He leaves behind his mother and father, Joe and Cheryl Zaragoza, his brothers Michael Zaragoza (Jessica) and Brandon Zaragoza, his sisters Teesa Zaragoza, Michelle Millard(Jason) and Laura Esqueda(Richard) his grandmother Pat Hollwedel and many other family members including all his nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles.

He was a mommas boy his entire life ❤️ Momma loves you more my sweet boy forever and always ❤️

Forever loved, deeply missed and never forgotten!
