Anna Lois Royer, 94, of Harrisburg, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at Bethany Village, Mechanicsburg, where she was longtime resident.

She was born on June 15, 1930 in Altoona, PA to the late John F. and Grace (Lucas) Royer.

Anna was a graduate of Westminster Choir College in Princeton, where she majored in organ music.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Harrisburg, where she was the organist and a member of the American Guild of Organists.

Anna began her career as a church organist the summer after her freshman year of college and continued to be an organist at numerous churches throughout her lifetime. She had been the organist for the National Council of Churches, having toured throughout Europe on tour one summer.

Her career included teaching music at the University of Iowa in Iowa City for a summer, the public schools in Princeton, university students in Princeton and lastly at the Susquehanna Township School District.

While at Bethany Village, Anna became known as the dog lady, as she would care for the dogs who live at Bethany Village.

Surviving is her twin sister, Margaret R. Billman and her husband, John of Lemoyne, numerous nieces and nephews and her longtime friend, Diane E. McHugh. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers; J Gregg Royer, Alan F. Royer and James G. Royer.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, February 14, 2025 at the Richard D. Rife Center at Bethany Village, 325 Wesley Drive, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.

Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until 10:00 A.M. on Friday at the Richard D. Rife Center.

Arrangements are under the care of the Neumyer Funeral Home, 1334 North Second Street, Harrisburg, PA 17102.
