John Steinmetz, Jr.
August 18, 1942 – February 4, 2025
John W. Steinmetz, Jr., a lifelong resident of the area, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2025, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Newburgh, NY. He was 82 years old. He was the son of John and Winnie Steinmetz. He was born August 18, 1942, at West Point, NY.
John retired from the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY with over 30 years of Civil Service.
He is survived by his son Lee Steinmetz, his wife Patty, and their children, Cortney, Amanda, and Lee. His daughter, Jennifer Hurst, her husband David, and their children Zachary and Madison. Three great-grandchildren, Baylee, Rayden, and Graysen. One sister, Gail of Cape May, NJ, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his wife Donna and his sister Joan.
There will be no visitation or services. Interment will be at Eagle Valley Cemetery, Highland Falls, NY.
