With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Aloysius J. Nase, Jr., affectionately known as “Butch,” on October 14, 2025. A beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, Butch’s warmth and generosity touched countless lives and left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Born and raised in Norristown, Butch found his calling in the kitchen, where his culinary talents blossomed into a lifelong career. As the proud owner and head chef of his own restaurant for many years, he served not only delicious meals but also a sense of community and comfort to everyone who walked through his doors. After the restaurant closed, Butch spent his time as a contractor who was everybody’s friend with a heart bigger than his waistline. He always made time to help others.
A proud graduate of Bishop Kenrick High School (Class of 1975) and a dedicated rower at Mercyhurst College in Erie, PA, Butch lived life with passion and purpose. He was known for his iconic Eagles bus that carried family and friends to Dorney Park, ski trips, Christmas Village, and countless Philly games. Whether cheering from the stands or organizing the next adventure, Butch’s spirit was infectious and his generosity unmatched.
Butch was a man who lived for connection—cherishing time spent with family and friends, always putting others first, and offering a helping hand or a listening ear whenever it was needed. His laughter filled rooms, his stories brought smiles, and his heart was always open.
He is survived by his devoted children, Sarah Nase and Tyler Nase; his cherished grandchildren, Christian Nase, and Alaina Nase; his loving sisters, Mary Wunder (Arnold), Teresa Ferrier (late Robert), Jo-Ellen Wolfrom (Richard), and Susan Nase (Frank Walton); and his adored nieces and nephews, Robert C. Ferrier Jr. (Xiaowen Tang), and Danielle Wolfrom; and two great-nephews, Robert C. Ferrier III, and Maximilian Tang. Each of them carries forward his legacy of kindness, strength, and love. Butch is preceded in death by his parents, Anna Theresa (nee Couchara) and Aloysius Nase, Sr.
Relatives and friends are invited to Butch’s Life Celebration on Sunday, October 19, 2025, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Boyd-Horrox-Givnish Life Celebration Home, 200 W. Germantown Pike, Norristown, PA 19403. A second visitation will be held on Monday, October 20, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 10:50 AM at Visitation BVM Church. Mass will begin at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Butch’s name may be sent to the Delaware Valley Golden Retriever Rescue, or simply think of Butch and pay forward his kindness to someone in need.
