Jewell D. Burton

Jewell D. Burton, 72, of Seymour, TN, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 15, 2025. She loved going to church and was a devoted member of Redemption Harvest Church in South Knoxville. Jewell had an outgoing personality and a generous heart. She gave to the homeless. Jewell was a Certified Nursing Assistant and worked for many years caring for others. She was selfless with her time and love.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Burton; son, Robert Smith of Harlan, KY; daughter, Bobbie J. Smith of Georgetown, KY; parents, Jarvis and Alma Fields; siblings, Edward Fields, Alberta Rivers, Hershel Fields, Willie Fields, Lillian Sanders, Nancy Aslinger, Junior Paul Fields, Hazel Childers, and Ray Fields.

Jewell is survived by her daughter, Janet Perry (Dave); daughter-in-law, Rhonda Smith of Louisville, KY; grandchildren, Natasha Smith, Makala Smith, Brandon Smith, Janelle Smith of Georgetown, KY, Hayden Perry, and Joey Moses, Jr., of Pennsylvania; 4 great-grandchildren; brother, David Fields of Nolansburg, KY; sister-in-law, Norma Fields of Nolansburg, KY; brother-in-law, Fred Childers of Lynch, KY; many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of Atchley Funeral Home, Seymour.
