Karen Peeler
Karen Lee Peeler, 83, of West Frankfort, passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at 12:45 PM at her residence.
She was born July 26, 1942 in Macomb, Illinois to Lloyd Arnold Whitaker and Freida Ocal ( Cromer) Whitaker. She married Paul Virgil Peeler on January 7, 1960 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois and he preceded her in death on December 20, 1994.
She was a member of the Union Free Will Baptist Church east of West Frankfort. She loved doing crafts and was an avid reader.
She is survived by 2 sons, Paul Keith Peeler and Mike Alan Peeler both of West Frankfort, by 2 grandsons, Jacob Thomas Peeler of West Frankfort and Nathanael Paul Peeler of Marion and 1 Great Grandson, Rylan. Also surviving is a brother, Victor Melvin Whitaker and Wife Marilyn of North Carolina and by a sister, Marcia Gilbert of Palmyra, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Paul Virgil Peeler and by a daughter-in-law, Julie Kirk Peeler
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 20, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at the Parker-Reedy Funeral Home in West Frankfort with Rev. Jason Jeans officiating.
Visitation will be after 11:00 A.M. on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the McCann Cemetery East of West Frankfort.
Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at the Parker-Reedy Funeral Home.
