All Nevada DMV vehicle transactions now available online
The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) has announced that as of effective Oct. 22, all vehicle transactions will start online which includes new registration, titling, registration renewals, movement permits, etc. Nevadans will begin their transactions through MyDMV or DriveNV before visiting an office if an in-person step is required.
“The most recent statewide network outage gave us valuable insight into how we can best serve Nevadans,” said DMV Director Tonya Laney. “Our top priority is ensuring customers can get critical services like driver’s licenses and ID cards without delays. Moving vehicle transactions online allows us to dedicate more time and resources to those essential in-person needs.”
Since the start of the current fiscal year in July, over 192,000 vehicle transactions have been completed in the office, with registration renewals representing the majority.
During that same time, DMV offices served over 118,000 customers, while approximately 20% of appointments went unused due to no-shows. Transitioning vehicle services to start online will streamline intake, reduce incomplete visits caused by missing paperwork, and free up thousands of appointments each month for Nevadans who require in-person assistance.
The DMV currently offers more than two dozen services online through MyDMV, DriveNV, and DMVNow Kiosks. Customers can renew registrations, order duplicate titles, obtain temporary movement permits, change their address, and more — all without visiting an office.
Features like Rapid Registration and Turbo Titles let customers upload documents and complete steps in advance, saving time and minimizing the risk of being turned away.
“We realize that not every transaction can be completed online,” said Laney. “However, if we are able to redirect the majority of people to go online, it makes a significant impact on reducing wait times and improving access for those who need in-person services.”
Nevadans can create an account and access online services for MyDMV and DriveNV by visiting dmv.nv.gov.
