Alice Powers

ALICE ANN (DOTSON) POWERS, 55, of the Dismal River section of Whitewood, VA, passed away Sunday, July 27, 2025, at her home following a courageous battle with COPD. Born in Richlands, VA, she was the daughter of the late Troy and Betsy (Horn) Dotson. She was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County, was of the Christian faith and was a wonderful homemaker with a lifelong love of sewing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ricky Dotson.

Those left to cherish her memory include Daughter: Summer Alivia Matney (Fiancé Devon Mullins) of Whitewood, VA; Son: James Darrel Powers Jr. of Honaker, VA; Grandchildren: Thor Powers and Raveine Mullins.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
