Albert Wilson, a resident of McCandless, passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at the age of 90. He was born on August 16, 1934 in Pennsylvania

Albert is survived by his loving friends and companions, who will fondly remember him as a funny man with a great sense of humor. He possessed a genuine concern for others and had a remarkable ability to make friends easily; everyone who met Albert loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings. 

In his younger years, Albert enjoyed cooking, stemming from his love of gardening. This interest blossomed during his time residing at a state center, where he fostered a deep appreciation for farming. He learned the joys of cultivating a garden and always cherished growing his own fruits and vegetables, even famously enjoying onions whole, like an apple. This experience instilled in him a sense of self-sufficiency that allowed him to build a fulfilling life for himself.

Albert also enjoyed spending time outdoors, particularly at summer camp and fishing in his younger years. He embraced travel, embarking on memorable trips with friends to destinations such as Niagara Falls, Disney World, and Williamsburg. Closer to home, he was a regular at local car shows and enjoyed dining out. Al had a zest for life and loved to be on the go.

At home Albert enjoyed sitting outside on the porch singing to oldies. as well as old cop shows, westerns, and flirting with the ladies. 

Over the years, with persistence and care, Albert’s friends were able to locate his brother, Edward, whom he often spoke about, and facilitated a heartwarming reunion after 24 years apart.

Albert will be fondly remembered for his signature red bandana and his warm, welcoming smile.
