William L. Workman
William L. Workman 93, of Springfield, died at 9:46 am, Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at his home. He was born November 29, 1928 in Taylorville, to Ben F. and Marcella Peters Workman. He married Vivian C. Richardson on February 24, 1951 and she preceded him in death on October 7, 2016.
Survivors include; one stepdaughter, Janice K. (David) Moran of Beardstown; two stepsons, Edward (Jan) Pennington of AZ and Craig Pennington of Quincy; one brother, Mike (Cheryl) Workman of Clinton; 8 step-grandchildren; 15 step great grandchildren; 11 step great-great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; two brothers; two sisters and one stepson, Raymond Pennington.
William was a member of Church of the Little Flower. He was a US Marine veteran serving from 1946-1948.
He retired in 1989 from Central Illinois Light Company where he worked as a Journeyman fitter.
Visitation: 11 am – 12:30 pm, Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
Funeral Service: 12:30 pm, Tuesday, November 29, 2022 Staab Funeral Home- Springfield, with Reverend Allen Kemme officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery, where Military Honors will be conducted.
