Spiro Basil Kircos, beloved husband, father, “pops”, and brother, peacefully fell asleep in the Lord on October 21, 2025, with his two children by his side.
Born in Chicago in 1936 to the late Basil and Chrisoula Kircos, proud Greek immigrants, Spiro lived a life rooted in faith, family, and love of community. He is survived by his devoted children, Suzanne (Jim) Saric and Bill (Meghan) Kircos; cherished grandchildren, Callie & Sophia Saric, Andrew, Alex, and Micah Kircos; dear step-grandchildren, Bryce, Cayden, Delilah, and Jaxon (2012); and his loving sister, Eleanor Lenox.
He now joins in eternal rest his beloved wife of 55 years, Christine, who passed away in July 2017. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering faith — a legacy that lives on through their children and grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to visitation at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 8202 E. Cactus Rd., Scottsdale, AZ, on Monday, October 27, beginning at 10:00 a.m., followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. A private burial will take place at a later date in Lincolnshire, Illinois.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Spiro’s name to Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, the parish community he deeply loved and faithfully served: 8202 E. Cactus Rd., Scottsdale, AZ 85260.
Spiro will be remembered for the warmth of his smile, noble character, and the positive way he approached every aspect of life. His classic “Spiro-isms” will continue to bring laughter to all who knew and loved him. He was, and will remain, an extraordinary role model.
