Megan Leah Zimmerman
- January 17, 2022
Megan, “Aunt Geggie” Leah Zimmerman, a lifelong resident of Tolar, Texas, died Monday, January 10, 2022, after a brief illness. She was born in 1988 at Hood General Hospital in Granbury, Texas. Megan attended Tolar ISD and graduated high school in 2007. Growing up on a farm, she learned the importance of a strong work ethic and of course the love of animals. After high school, she attended Weatherford Jr. College and also, immediately sought employment in the workforce. She excelled at her job with the First National Bank of Granbury and was a loyal employee for over 15 years. She was an avid volunteer with the youth in her community and the 4-H and FFA Chapters could always count on her to help with special projects. Growing up in the country, as a child, Meg showed lambs and won many accolades at livestock shows. As an adult, Meg loved socializing with her family and friends. She enjoyed going to the movies, stock shows and rodeos, but most of all, she enjoyed attending the many school and extracurricular functions of her nieces and nephew to show her SUPPORT and LOVE. Just like her mom, Ruth Zimmerman, Megan had a heart of gold and anyone that knew her was proud to call her a friend. She will always be remembered by her many acts of KINDNESS AND SELFLESSNESS. She was truly a special country girl with a smile that could light up any room. Many have wondered how her nickname, “Geggie” came about. When her first niece, Hannah, was born she became “Meggie”…then when her youngest niece, Grace, entered the scene, Gracie began calling her “Geggie” and the sweet name just stuck. Meg and her nephew, Josh, had a very special bond and all of these young family members will miss her and remember her caring heart forever. Because of her caring and giving heart, God took Meg home first so that she could make things ready for her mom, Ruth.
Megan is survived by her father, Donathan Zimmerman, Sister and Brother-in-law, Dawn and Chris Pflueger of Joshua, Texas; Niece, Hannah Pflueger and future husband, Kaleb Trammell, of Norman, Oklahoma; Nephew, Joshua Pflueger and Niece, Grace Pflueger of Joshua, Texas.
Memorial gifts may be sent to the Hood County Livestock Raisers Association in honor of The Megan Zimmerman Memorial Scholarship Fund: P.O. Box 2061; Granbury, Texas 76048
