Wynn R. Bridge

Wynn R. Bridge, age 90, of Bristol, IL passed away on Monday, May 30, 2022 at his home. He was born on September 10, 1931 in Bristol, IL the son of Wynn and Elizabeth (Swartz) Bridge.

Wynn was united in marriage on May 23, 1953 to Thelma Crouch and they spent the next 46 years happily together until her passing April 4, 2000.  Mr. Bridge proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force during the Korean War.  He was employed as an electrician for 33 years at Western Electric which was later AT&T until his retirement in 1988. Wynn loved big band music (especially Lawrence Welk), woodworking, collecting carousels and fishing with his family and friends.

He is survived by his sons, Fred (Laurie) Bridge of Yorkville, IL, Norm (Kathy) Bridge of Naperville, IL; his daughter-in-law, Patti Bridge of South Bend, IN; his seven grandchildren, Sara (Chris) Bomgaars, Christy Keener, Jonathan (Lindsay) Bridge, Matthew (Hana) Bridge, Rebecca (Brian) Rose, Jeffrey Bridge and Stephen Bridge; his nine great-grandchildren; as well as his sister, Bonnie Johnson of Aurora, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wynn and Elizabeth Bridge; his wife, Thelma Bridge; his son, Steve Bridge; his brother, Raymond Bridge; his sisters, Lucille Goins and Arlene Logsdon; his brothers-in-law, Alvin Johnson and Bob Goins.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 PM Friday, June 3, 2022 at the Nelson Funeral Home, 1617 North Bridge Street, Yorkville, IL with Rev. Dr. Reginald F. Sey officiating.  Interment with Military Honors will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Bristol, IL.

Friends may visit from 10:00 AM until the Hour of Service on Friday, June 3, 2022 at the Nelson Funeral Home in Yorkville, IL.

His family would like to give a special thanks to his caregivers Amy Baum, Shelly Harvey, his special friend and meal provider Sheila Moreno and the entire staff from Divine Hospice.
