Wilma “Earlene” Gronewold

Wilma “Earlene” Gronewold, 85, of Spaulding died at 6:55 am, Monday, May 17, 2021 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born November 12, 1935 in Springfield to Walter and Wilma (Willis) Kessel. She married John Gronewold September 5, 1953 and he preceded her in death September 29, 2011.

She is survived by two daughters, Terra Nichele of Glen Ellyn, IL and Lori Gronewold of Spaulding; three grandchildren, John (Katie) Nichele, Joseph (Kelly) Nichele and Ashley (Thomas) White; seven great grandchildren, Michael Nichele, Logan Nichele, Amelia Nichele, Gabriella Nichele, Charlotte White, Tommy White, Joey Nichele and one greqat grandson on the way; one sister, Joan Milner of Mt. Pulaski and several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and two sister, Lylene Nepute and Barbara Kessell. She retired from Springfield School District 186 as a custodian.

Earlene was a member of St. James Church in Riverton. She loved genealogy. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy.

Graveside service: 10:00 am, Thursday, May 20, 2021 at Old Salem Cemetery.
