William P. Anagnostopoulos
William P. Anagnostopoulos, age 82 of Yorkville, IL passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at his home. He was born on August 29, 1939 in Oak Park, IL the son of Peter and Mary (Karapanayiotis) Anagnostopoulos.
Mr. Anagnostopoulos served his country proudly as a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of All Saints Greek Orthodox Church in Joliet, IL. Bill was employed by G.T.E for 31 years as a Telecommunications Engineer, until his retirement. He was a member of Kendall Masonic Lodge AF & AM, Scottish Rite, Medinah Shriners, and the Order of the Eastern Star. He was also a Past Worshipful Master of the Kendall Masonic Lodge. Bill was a loving son, dear companion and devoted uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.
Bill is survived by his beloved companion, Linda Stephens of Yorkville, IL; her children, Erin (Bill) Gorski of Naperville, IL, and Lance Stephens of Naperville, IL; he was Uncle Bill to Kaitlyn Gorski, Brandon Gorski, Sydney Stephens, Owen Stephens, and Avery Stephens; his sister-in-law, Margot Anagnostopoulos of Des Plaines, IL; his nieces, Sandy Anagnostopoulos and Joan Berg; and his nephews, Harold Anagnostopoulos, Anthony DeSensi, and Glenn Berg.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Mary Anagnostopoulos; his brother, Arnold Anagnostopoulos; his sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Angelo Tolios; and his niece, Susan DeSensi.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, March 18, 2022 at All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, 102 N. Broadway Street, Joliet, IL with Father Chris Avramopoulos officiating. Interment will be held at 12:30 PM on Sunday, March 19, 2022 in the Oakland Cemetery in Manchester, IA with Father Michael Constantinides officiating.
Friends may visit from 4:00 PM until 8:00 Pm on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at the Nelson Funeral Home, 1617 N. Bridge Street, Yorkville, IL.
