William L. “Bill” Price, 80, of Springfield died at 2:00 am, Friday, October 1, 2021 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born May 8, 1941 in Springfield, IL to William J. and Margaret (Scheppman) Price. He married Barbara Wake June 4, 1960.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Barbara; daughter, Missy (Joe) Mizera of Springfield; two sons, Jim (Lana) Price of Ocean Springs, MS and Ron (Debbie) Price of Sherman; seven grandchildren, Lanette Garza, Erin, Eric and Kyle Price, Katie, Zach and Abbie Mizera; three great grandchildren A.J., Alena May and Preston; one brother, Robert Foster of Danville, IL.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Marilyn Nicks and two brothers, John Foster and Dennis Price.
Bill enjoyed woodworking, deer hunting, fishing and gardening. He was involved as a leader in the Boy Scouts of America.
He worked as a union carpenter for Local #16/270 and later worked at Staab Funeral Home.
He was a member of St. Aloysius Church and later attended St. John Vianney Church in Sherman.
Memorial Gathering: 10 am – 12 pm, Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
Memorial Service: 12:00 pm, Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Father Freddie Chima Mbiere officiating.
To honor Bill, casual attire – including jeans and flannel shirts – is encouraged.
