Warren Lee King, 83, of Worthington, Ohio, died Aug. 17, 2023. He was born May 20, 1940, in Rockford, Ill., to the late Lee and Iva (Mc Cartin) King of Egan, Ill. Warren is preceded in death by grandparents, Thomas and Bertha (Medlar) King and Clegg and

 Jennie (Wright) Mc Cartin. Warren graduated from Byron High School, Byron, Ill., and earned his bachelor’s degree from The University of Iowa. He was in the Army ROTC at the University of Iowa and then served in the U.S. Army from 1964-65 being discharged due an accident. After his service in the Army, he achieved his master’s degree from University of Illinois.

Warren taught Geology at South West State in Marshall, Minn., after teaching he began working for disability services and became very active. In 1980 he became director of Disability Services at The Ohio State University. During his time at OSU he was able to create many changes at OSU for the disabled. He retired from OSU in 2000. His hobby and love was Genealogy. Both Warren and Mary loved to attend conferences and visit cemeteries.

He is survived by his wife, Mary, of 57 years; son, Kevin J. King of Plain City, Ohio; daughter, Jennifer Lacey and granddaughter Elizabeth Croft of Worthington, Ohio.
