Virginia Carol Beckelman

Virginia Carol Beckelman

Virginia Carol Beckelman, 79, of Granbury, passed away on Tuesday October 4, 2022. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at Acton Baptist Church.

Carol was born on December 20, 1942, a ”late in life” surprise, to parents Ebbin and Dona Burnum at St Joseph’s Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. She grew up in Dalworthington Gardens and graduated from Arlington High School.

In September of 1961, she married the love of her life, Tim Beckelman. The couple briefly relocated to Baton Rouge, Louisiana where they had their 2 daughters, Tracie and Alicia.  Returning to the Fort Worth area, Carol spent the next 16 years being a wife, a mom, a Sunday school teacher and a school volunteer. Once the girls were grown she went to work outside the home.  She retired from XTO Energy in 2004. It was a job she loved and so many there loved her.

She had been in choir as a girl and throughout her life, she and Tim continued to sing together in church choir, gospel groups and as a duo. Her harmony was a natural, warm and wonderful gift. Carol was also an amazing cook and is known among all her friends and family for her banana nut bread, macaroni and cheese and her chocolate and coconut pies. She shared her heart and her love, through food and song with all of us.

Carol was friendly, funny and feisty (a true red head) and strong in her faith. She loved the Lord, Tim, her family, her friends and her dachshunds so very much. She will be incredibly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Tim Beckelman, her daughter Tracie Harper and husband Ty, her daughter Alicia Kekich and husband Al, her grandchildren, Mimi’s Gaggle; Teal Morrison and husband Brady, Nic Harper and wife Maggie, Kiley Richards and husband Adam, Dillon Harper and Bryston Grier, nieces, nephews, daughter in love Robin Eddins and many, many friends.
