Tommy Gill Cookson

Tommy Gill Cookson, 71, of New Philadelphia and formerly of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away Monday, October 11, 2021 following a lengthy illness.
A son of the late Donald Robert and Mary Jane (Kelley) Cookson, Tommy was born January 17, 1950 at Coulee Dam, Washington.
Tommy was an outdoorsman who especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. He continued to fish in his favorite spot in the Tuscarawas River until this past March when his health no longer permitted him to do so.
He is survived by his wife, Beth (Hancock) Cookson whom he married on May 13, 1981; his children, Melissa Cookson, Peggy (Shawn Henry) Luke, Jeremy (Teresa) Thompson and Haley Cookson; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sally Perkins and Betty Kay (Sam) Miller and a brother, Don Earl (Sharon) Cookson.
In keeping with Tommy’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or services and cremation will take place through the care of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia.
Contributions may be made in Tommy’s memory to Community Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 716 Commercial Avenue SW, New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
