Barbara Ann Lahm

Barbara Ann Lahm, 89, of Tuscarawas, passed away Saturday, October 9, 2021 at her home following a period of declining health.

A daughter of the late Donald and Lena (Schumacher) Klein, Barbara was born September 7, 1932 at Tuscarawas, Ohio.

Barbara was raised in Sharon Moravian Church at Tuscarawas and was a graduate of Tuscarawas-Warwick High School. Later in life, she worked as a bus driver for the Indian Valley School District for 17 years.

On June 12, 1948, Barbara married Ralph Junior Lahm and they raised one daughter Sandra. The couple shared nearly 70 years of marriage prior to Ralph’s passing on March 26, 2018.

She will be remembered for her fun loving personality and as one who was always up for a good time. Barbara enjoyed spending time with her friends, whether it was playing cards a few times a month, going dancing or eating wings on Thursday nights at the Corner Tavern in Tusky. Most of all, Barbara will be remembered by her family and friends for her generous spirit who was always caring for and helping others.

Barbara also enjoyed visiting Wheeling Island Casino and loved watching her grandchildren participate in their various sporting events and other activities.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandy Caldwell of New Philadelphia; her grandchildren, Jason Caldwell of Newcomerstown, Jeremy (Michelle) Caldwell of New Philadelphia, Justin (Nikki) Caldwell of Bolivar and Jolene (Josh) McDonald of New Philadelphia; her great-grandchildren, Michael (Allie), Kayla (Adam), Conner, Maddi, Maddex, Paisyn, Paxtyn, Jordyn, Brayden, Paityn, Brooklyn, Kaleb, Kaidyn, Kylan and Kinsley; her great-great grandchildren, Kenley, Ashton, Grant and Liam; a sister, Sara Lentz of Dennison; a brother, Richard Klein of Centerburg, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, a son-in-law, Phillip Caldwell and a granddaughter-in-law, Melinda Caldwell.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 18, 2021 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Barbara’s life will be held on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Josh McDonald officiating. Burial will follow in Sharon Moravian Cemetery at Tuscarawas. A luncheon will be held at Authentic Church following the burial.
