Timothy “TC” Harkins

Timothy “TC” Harkins, 62, of Glenarm, formerly of Illiopolis, passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at his home. He was born May 20, 1959, in Peoria, the son of Richard and Annette (Sanger) Harkins. He married Jennifer “Jenny” Crocker on August 9, 1997 and she survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Alex Harkins of Glenarm, Jeremy (Kyleigh) Covi of Illiopolis and Josh (Heather) Covi of Divernon; three grandchildren, Kinleigh and Bryant Covi and Jett Covi; mother, Annette Harkins of Springfield; one sister, Sally (Mike) Rice of Peoria; one brother, Rich (LaJean) Harkins of Springfield; father-in-law, Floyd “Bud” Crocker, Jr. of Divernon; one sister-in-law, Janice Dawson of Riverton; one brother-in-law, Floyd “Matt” (Kathy) Crocker III of Pawnee and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his father, Richard Harkins; one brother-in-law, Vince Dawson; mother-in-law, Leila Crocker, and uncle, Bill Sanger.

TC was a United States Air Force veteran. He worked in law enforcement for 40 years and was a Police Officer for Riverton Police Department for the past 16 years.

TC loved to cook and work in his workshop, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Memorial Gathering: 10:30 am – 12:30 pm, Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Memorial Service: 12:30 pm, Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield, with Pastor Clint Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.
