Timothy Prestwood Jones

Timothy Prestwood Jones went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Wednesday, April 7, 2021.

Tim was a native of Hendersonville, NC, and a lifelong member of Fruitland Baptist Church where he served as Deacon, Congregational Music Leader, and Logistical Coordinator for summer mission trips.

Tim was a retired Master Sergeant of the United States Army and mail carrier for the United States Postal Service.  He was the Food Safety Manager for Apple Wedge Packers, post retirement.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Betty Prestwood Jones, and a wife, Rhonda Stepp Jones, all of Hendersonville, NC.

Tim is lovingly survived by his wife, Katherine Haney Jones; his son, Isaac Prestwood Jones; brothers, Steve Jones (Brenda), Daniel Jones (Kathy), and David Jones (Joy), all of Hendersonville. Tim was a loving uncle to three nieces and seven great-nieces; three nephews and seven great-nephews.  Tim is loved and honored by two stepchildren, Chad Duncan (Desiree) of Bluffton, SC and Kelly Young (Wesley) of Pensacola, FL.  Tim was proudly adopted as “Grandpa Tim” by Alex and Avery Young and Elizabeth and Chase Duncan.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Fruitland Baptist Church.  A reception will immediately follow the service at the church.
