Thomas Rector

Tom Rector, 97, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2021.  Husband of the late Jeraldine (Jerry) Smith Rector, father of Kristine (Greg) Gleason, Charlotte (Keith) Donnermeyer and Timothy (Christine) Rector, grandfather of Erin, Amanda, Nick, Laura, Stephanie and Andrew, great-grandfather of 7 and AFS dad of Lily.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Edwin D. and Myrtle B. Rector and his brothers, John, Robert and David.  Originally from Grand Rapids, MI, Tom and Jerry called Milwaukee home.  His long career with Cutler-Hammer (Eaton) included posts in Pittsburgh, Chicago, London and Paris as well as Milwaukee.  Tom served in the Army in WWII, participating in the Battle of the Rhineland and Central Europe Campaign. After the war he was in the Army Reserves for many years and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel.  Tom’s outgoing personality was a joy to all those he met.  A celebration of his life will occur on April 2, 2022, 11:00 AM  at St. Boniface Episcopal Church, Mequon, WI.  Further details can be found at https://www.smithcorcoran.com/obituary/.   In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Boniface Church, Mequon (saintbonifacechurch.com) or American Field Service (afs.org).
