Thomas E. Lorentz

Thomas E. Lorentz, 76, of Plymouth, Ohio passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. He was born in Mansfield, Ohio on April 26, 1945 to the late George Lorentz and Marie (Fulkerson) Meagher.

Thomas was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked as a tow motor operator at Broscho for 12 years and previously worked for many years at Whitey’s as a parts manager. Thomas was a people person through and through. He was proud of his family and was the rock and hero to them all. He cherished the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom he adored. Thomas not only enjoyed watching NASCAR, but was an avid sports fan of the Cleveland Browns, Cavaliers, Indians and Ohio State Buckeyes. He also enjoyed the holidays, but loved Christmas time the most, especially Christmas trees.

Thomas is survived by the love of his life of 46 years, Yvonne (Hammond) Lorentz; children, Kelli (Edward) Moore, Thomas M. (Jennifer) Lorentz and Joy (Kevin) Ritchie; seven grandchildren, Colton (Krisstina) Haynes, Cady (Matthew) Ferguson, Cayla Moore, Cameron Moore, Savannah Lorentz, Dustin Moore and James Moore; and three great-grandchildren, McKenzi Ferguson, Ayvaleigh Haynes and Grayson Haynes.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Ervin Meagher; and brother, Raymond Lorentz.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 18, 2022 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield, Ohio 44902. A service will follow beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Joy Ritchie leading services. He will be laid to rest in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made in care of the family.
