Theodore Krauss, 94, passed away peacefully at his home in Dallas, TX on January 30, 2025. Ted was born and raised in Bay City, MI where he was one of five siblings. After high school, he studied at the Maryknoll Seminary in Chicago for one year and then enlisted in the Air Force where he was a cryptographer. He served his country for four years and then attended the University of Michigan. He met Marian, the love of his life, at the University of Michigan Newman Club, and they married in 1956. He graduated from Michigan with an MBA in 1957 and went to work for General Motors in Detroit. In 1959, he moved his young family to Cedar Rapids, IA where he began his long career at Collins Radio. In 1973 the company transferred him to Dallas, TX where he worked until his retirement in 1990.

After retirement, Ted and Marian moved several times and lived in Las Cruces, NM, Corpus Christi, TX and Georgetown, TX. Ted loved road trips with his family and after retiring continued traveling in an RV with Marian for many years. After Marian passed away in 2004, Ted moved back to the Dallas area where he enjoyed spending time with his family. Ted was always involved in his church and community and was active in the Knights of Columbus, Boy Scouts and others. He loved singing and was a member of the Barbershoppers singing group in Dallas. We will always remember his easygoing nature, ready laugh and great sense of humor.

Left to cherish his memory are his 5 sons, Andy, Ted, Matt, Philip and Paul and their spouses; 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. In addition, he is survived by brothers-in-law Jack Clements of Edmonton, Alberta and Norm Beauchamp of Port Huron, MI. He is also survived by many friends and relatives in Michigan and elsewhere. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marian and his grandson, Nathan Krauss.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, March 15 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Jude Catholic Church, 1515 N. Greenville Ave, Allen, TX 75002. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers, P.O. Box 302, Maryknoll, NY 10545-0302.
