Theodore E. Oldeen

Theodore (Ted) Oldeen, age 81, of Plano, IL went to meet our Lord on Saturday, March 26, 2022 while under medical care at Northwestern Medicine in Huntley, IL. He was born on February 4, 1941 in Kewanee, IL to Ted and Helen Oldeen and stepson to Arthur Walwer of Kewanee, IL.

Ted was a proud family man, his sons and grandchildren gave him much Love and Joy. He was a lifetime member of Plano United Methodist Church and served on many committees and filled the role of usher. In Teds younger years he loved to fish and took many trips with his family to Colorado among other states. Ted loved gardening he enjoyed flowers and yard work of all kinds. He loved his John Deere tractor and mowing the lawn. Ted was often heard singing and yodeling while mowing. Ted was a History buff, and loved watching old western movies. He was a very loving husband, son, father, brother, uncle, friend, but mostly a wonderful loving grandfather and great-grandfather. Ted will forever be missed by his loving family and his many stories.

Ted worked most of his adult life for Barber Greene in Aurora and DeKalb and for Caterpiller/Agco as a buyer.

Ted is survived by his highschool sweetheart and wife of 60 years, Karen. His two amazing sons, Douglas (Tina) Oldeen of Plano, IL, and David Oldeen of Yorkville, IL. Ted will be remembered by his loving grandchildren, Tim (Jen) Oldeen of Ohio, Brian (Jen) Oldeen of Tennessee, Cody Oldeen of Colorado, Grace Oldeen of Plano, IL, Olivia (Anthony) Lesko of Sandwich, IL, Jaclyn (Matt) Moore of Virgina Beach, Virginia. His adoring great-grandchildren, Conner, Dylan, Theo, Kinley, Collin, and Henry and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his infant son Timothy; his parents, Ted Oldeen Sr., Helen and Art Walwer; his brother, Robert Oldeen; and his grandparents, J.H and Pearl Price.

A Funeral Service for Ted will be held at 12:30 PM on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Nelson Funeral Home, 1010 W. South Street, Plano, IL, with Pastor Stevan Saunders officiating. Interment will follow in the Little Rock Township Cemetery, Plano, IL.

Friends may visit from 10:00 AM until the Hour of Service on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at the Nelson Funeral Home in Plano, IL.

In lieu of flowers please direct donations to the Plano United Methodist Church Save the Windows fund. The fund will be restoring the beautiful stained glass windows of this historic church. United Methodist Church of Plano, 219 N. Hale St., Plano, IL 60545.
