Taryn Michelle Burger (nee Hyduk), 38, passed away on May 23, 2024 in Ft. Wayne, IN. Taryn was born on April 18, 1986 in Cedar Rapids, IA to the late Kevin and late Crissa (Finn) Hyduk. Her immediate family included her devoted brother, Jason, who proceeded her in death.

Taryn graduated from Linn-Mar High School in Marion, IA and earned her bachelor’s degree in Communications from Holy Cross College, in South Bend, IN. Taryn worked for KZIA in the area of New Business Development.

Taryn met the love of her life, Tim Burger, while working at WIRK in West Palm Beach, FL. The versions of how they met varies depending on who you believe. Tim and Taryn were blessed with nine years of marriage. They welcomed their son, Hudson Finn, five years ago. Taryn passed her love of all things Notre Dame to her new family.

Taryn’s infectious spirit started before her career as a cheerleader and continued through her professional life and her joy in party planning for every occasion. Her experience earned her the award of “Tailgate Party of the Week” for Notre Dame Football last season. As impressive as that was, it does not compare to the satisfaction she enjoyed celebrating Hudson, Tim, family, and friends.

Taryn’s love, enthusiasm, and heroics will live for years in the hearts and memories of those who knew her. If you question that, the proof lies in the many pictures, articles, and mementos she kept in numerous totes always within her sight.

Surviving are her loving husband, Timothy “Tim” Burger, her precious son, Hudson Finn Burger, aunts and uncles, many cousins, and friends. A Celebration of Life in honor of Taryn’s selfless contributions will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 1, 2024 at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton St., Ft. Wayne, IN 46825, with calling from 11:00 a.m. until the services. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, National Pancreatic Foundation, or the Ft. Wayne Police Department K9 unit.
