On Dec. 10, 2023, Tamara Annette Marks quietly and bravely stepped into her next life following a brief illness.

Tam was born on Jan. 25, 1959, to Roger and Mary Ellen Marks along with twin sister Kim and hand in

hand declaring “Come on, let’s have fun!”

Tam loved nature. Tam loved quilting, gardening, the mountains, the canyons, roses, Christmas. She always wondered “Why can’t we have Christmas all year long?” Oh and the countless cups of coffee she raised in conversation with her loved ones. We love you Tam.

Those left to hold Tam close to their hearts are: the love of her life Michael Schroeder, her three children: Kara Dawkins Sloan of Boone, Iowa, Zachary (Annette) Marks of Yuma, Ariz., and Heather Schroeder of Carroll, Iowa; seven grandchildren: Bella Dawkins, Ethan Sloan, Lillian Sloan, Kadyn Marks, Gage Marks, Aspyn Marks and Paris Strunk; her siblings: twin sisters Judy (Jay) Ploessl of Cape Coral, Fla., Trudy Murphy of Conyers, Ga, Barbara Freeman of Garland, Texas, twin sister Kim (Mike) Myhre of Cedar Rapids Iowa, twin brothers Tim Marks of Denver, Colo., and Tom (Dixie Bixler) Marks of Mt. Vernon, Iowa. And many nieces and nephews.

The joyful noise happening on the other side comes from her parents Roger and Mary Ellen Marks, her sisters Marcia Anderson and Daryl Plummer, in-laws Burdette and Roseanne Schroeder, brothers-in-law Troy Freeman and Michael Murphy, and nieces Kathryn Vowell and Genie Schroeder.

There are no services planned at this time. To honor Tam, plant a tree, plant some roses, but be sure to stop, and smell the roses.
