Steven “MeMo” George Remmer

Steven “MeMo” George Remmer, 71, of Mansfield, passed away at Good Shepherd Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility on Friday, February 11, 2022.

 

Steven was born on August 1, 1950 in Mansfield, Ohio, and was the son of Lee and Inez (Staple) Remmer. Steven retired from Bosch in Ashland, and was also had worked at Tappan for 10 years. He proudly served in the United States Army. He was a caring husband and a loving father who loved and cherished his family. He was known as the “Grill Master” by many as he loved to cook out. He attended Mt. Herman Baptist Church over the years. He enjoyed bowling in his spare time.

 

He leaves behind to cherish many wonderful memories his wife of 52 years, Ora (Selmon) Remmer; his children, Frank (Felicia) Remmer, Kesha (Garfield) Chapple, and Steven (Dejanairah) Remmer II; his grandchildren, Diante Likely, Leah Remmer, Alora Remmer, Stevie Remmer, and Ke’shon Remmer; his sisters, Ann (Wendell) Lindsay and Betty King; his brother, Lester Remmer; and many nieces, nephews, and very good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Ellen Richardson and Delores Young; and his brothers, Paul, Robert and Jeffrey Remmer.

 

Family and friends may visit on Friday, February 18, 2022 from 5:00-7:00 pm at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 am on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at the funeral home. Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Squad will perform full military honors at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at Mansfield Cemetery.

 

At family request, please wear a mask at entry to the funeral home, and please practice social distancing.
