Steven Farrington

Steven C. Farrington of Chicago IL, died of cancer at his home on April 8th. He was surrounded by his loved ones. He was 60 years old.

 

Steven was born on January 18th, 1961 in Kirksville, MO to Betty Goldenstein Farrington and Donald D. Farrington (deceased). He was raised in Ft. Madison, IA where he graduated high school in 1979
Steve was an accomplished tradesman. He spent his professional life in the mechanical trades and worked on everything from small engines to yachts. Additionally, Steve was a master furniture finisher and cabinet maker. He was most recently a valued employee of Proctor and Gamble. Steve also had many hobbies which included motorcycling and aquarium fish keeping, as well as gun and watch collecting.

 

Steve is survived by the love of his life, Laura Justice of Chicago, his mother Betty Farrington of Ft. Madison, IA, his sisters, Kay Moellers of Tiffen, IA and Tricia Scott of Mediapilos, IA, his daughter Nina Farrington of Knoxville, IL and son Jacob Farrington of Ft. Madison, IA, grandchildren Koltin Mingo and Kamryn Pine of Knoxville, IL, and beloved cousin Janet Newell of Chicago, IL, as well as many other beloved cousins and friends.

 

Steve was a true lover of big, majestic trees. Anyone with the impetus may plant a tree in his memory in any place of their choice. His other favorite charity was the Anti-Cruelty Society of Chicago.

 

A memorial visitation will be held, Friday April 23, from 3:00-7:00pm at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 6150 N. Cicero Ave. Chicago IL. Interment private. For more information please call 773-736-3833.
