Shirley L. Mast

Shirley L. Mast of Sandwich, IL, age 79 passed away on Sunday, August 1, 2021 at Journey Care Hospice in Barrington, IL. She was born on January 6, 1942 in Aurora, IL, the daughter of Albert and Dora (Welch) Corniels.

Shirley was united in marriage on June 21, 1959 to Mr. William E. Mast and they spent the next 57 years of their life happily together until his passing in 2016. She was a lifetime and active member of the Cross Lutheran Church in Yorkville, IL and was employed for 12 years as their bookkeeper. Shirley was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt who will be deeply missed by family and friends.

Shirley is survived by her sons, William (Lori) Mast of Sandwich, IL, Andy (Jacki) Mast of Montgomery, IL, and Joe (Staci) Mast of Sandwich, IL; her grandchildren, Steven Owen, Christina (Tim) Childress, Jason Mast, Billy Mast, Andrew  (Alex) Mast Jr., Bailey (Thomas) DiGrazia, Andrew Mueller, and Joseph Mast Jr.; her great-grandchildren, Makayla, Hailey, Connor, Stella Grace, and Casey; her siblings, Betty (Jim) Whitley, Duane Corniels, Joyce Knight, and Sharon Hamblin, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Dora Corniels; her husband, William Mast; one son, Timothy Ray Mast; her siblings, Helen, Robert, Ken, Raymond, Frances, Lyle, David, Eloise, Richard, and Pam.

A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at the Cross Lutheran Church, 8609 Route 47, Yorkville, IL.

Friends may visit from 9:00 AM until the Hour of Service on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at the Cross Lutheran Church in Yorkville, IL.

Interment will be private in the Cross Lutheran Church Cemetery in Yorkville, IL.
