Shirley was born Sept. 11, 1936, to Richard and Betty (Simonsen) Sills. She graduated from Marion High School, class of 1955 and valued the lifelong friends she made there. Shirley was a 70-year member of Marion Christian Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher, elder, and was a part of the Disciples of Christ women’s group. In this church, she married Lloyd Willis Jordan in 1955 and they were married for 61 years. Shirley and Lloyd farmed in Linn County for 61 years which included her involvement in US Homemakers Circle, Linn County Extension Council and 4-H youth programs.

Shirley was a woman who lived in the light and heart of God. Faith and Family were most important to her. She made sure everyone was included and was the glue that held both her and Lloyd’s families together. Shirley’s happiest times were spent surrounded by family.

She is survived by her children, Jeff and Marcia Jordan, Laurie Copper and Amy and Mike Hamilton; her grandchildren, James Jordan and Holly Ryan, Ashley and Jim Fitzgerald, Spencer and Amber Jordan, Kim and Jon Bullock, Jay, Sarah, and Will Hamilton; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Andrew, and Claire Fitzgerald, Leonard and Maisel Jordan, Jackson, Henry and Bristol Bullock; her sisters and brothers, Karen and Ken Pinkham, Dick Sills, and Bob and Martha Sills; and her brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Sharon Jordan, Garnet Warren and Judy, and Jim Kotrba.

She was preceded by her husband Lloyd Jordan; son in-love, Raymond Copper; brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Laurel Sills; sister-in-law, Diana Sills; brother and sister-in-law, Carol and Bud Mentzer; brother-in-law, Kenneth Jordan; brother-in-law, Ron Warren. Her parents, Richard and Betty Sills Shaw; her mother and father-in-law, James and Avalda Jordan; and stepfather, Frank Shaw.

A special thanks to Dr. Jaclyn Price and her staff at Mercy Care Marion for her care and putting up with our feisty Shirley.
