Shirley Ann (Dripps) Reeves, 89, of Winter Haven, Fla. passed away June 22, 2025. She was born February 9, 1936 in Urbana, Iowa, daughter of Willis and Florence Dripps, and married Joseph F. Reeves of Coggon, Iowa on June 20, 1959.
She was a school teacher in Iowa, a military spouse, a volunteer coordinator at BETA Center in Orlando, Fla., and a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Shirley enjoyed traveling to Europe, especially Germany, Ireland, and Normandy, France. She loved following basketball, especially the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Indiana Fever, doing puzzles and sudoku, playing Bingo, and watching old movies. She moved to Clermont from Orlando in 1997, and then to Winter Haven in 2023.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joe Reeves; her daughter Kathryn Reeves; her brother Edward Dripps; and sisters Mildred Koopman and Carol Denny. Surviving are her daughter Kerry VanScoik and husband Peter of Winter Haven, Fla.; son Michael Reeves and wife Denise of Washington D.C.; sister Geraldine (Geri) Schirm and husband Gary of Marion, Iowa; brother Gerald (Jerry) Dripps and wife Linda of Boise, Idaho; grandchildren Amber, Ashley, and Joseph; and many nieces and nephews.
Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church (12th Street & SR 50) in Clermont, Fla. Interment will follow in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Fla. Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 PM on Tuesday, July 1 at the funeral home. Becker Family Funeral Home, 806 W.
