Sherry Lorraine Oler Abbott
- March 23, 2021
Sherry Lorraine Oler Abbott, 72, passed away on Sunday; March 21, 2021 in Granbury.
She was born March 12, 1949 in Dallas to Royce C. Oler, Jr. and Norma L. Matney Oler.
Sherry married Edwin Marshall Abbott on April 20, 2006. Together, they loved to travel with their RV group, traveling extensively all over the country. She loved gardening, working in the yard, boating, fishing, and most of all 2-step dancing with Ed.
Sherry was loyal, selfless and she had a heart of gold. No one was more fun to be with and laugh with. We all just loved that Sherry was a part of our lives.
Sherry’s love for Ed was almost palpable. They met as widowers, having broken hearts from the loss of beloved spouses and built a lasting bond of love and tenderness. Ed said it best, “…We were truly brought together by God’s superior wisdom and guidance…it’s been a beautiful bonding when we both were in need. We’ve lived a joyous life together….”
Sherry was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, Ed Abbott in December 2020.
She is survived by her sisters, Linda Powell and husband Larry of Arlington, Connie Harrington and husband Tom of Arlington, and Tivoli Bacher and husband Carl of St.Louis, MO.; brothers, Mark Majors and wife Cassandra of Waxahachie and David Majors and wife Vickie of Seven Points; seventeen nieces and nephews; two step-sons, Bob Abbott and wife Karen of Arlington and Mike Abbott and wife Cindi of Grandview.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00AM. Saturday; March 27, 2021 at Parkdale Cemetery in Arlington under the direction of Wiley Funeral Home of Granbury.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to the Alzheimer’s Association.
