Richard “Rick” Loyd Rooks

Richard “Rick” Loyd Rooks, 67, of Granbury, peacefully passed away at his home surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday; March 9, 2021.
Rick spent most of his life in Fort Worth, Texas where he graduated from Riverside High School. It is also where he met the love of his life, Deanna. Rick and Deanna were married August 19, 2000, their relationship is best described as a fairy tale most dream of. They have always been more than just husband and wife. They were truly best friends and soulmates. Rick, Deanna and their daughters moved to Granbury after he retired. Rick had a kind soul and never met a stranger, he loved deeply and always had a joke to tell. Rick loved antiques and was always going to the local antique stores. He loved to watch old westerns and could shoot a mean game of pool. His wife, daughters and grandchildren were his world, he cherished them and made sure they all knew how much he loved them.
Rick is survived by his wife, Deanna Rooks; children, Pamela Brubaker, Michele Carter, Autumn Rooks; son-in-law, Troy Carter; daughter-in-law, Lori Brubaker; grandchildren, Ayden “Bud” Rooks, Willow Carter, Keegan Carter, Kobe and Brayden Johnson; along with countless other loved ones.
He is preceded in death by his father, Loyd Rooks; mother, Helen Johnson; aunt, Grace Evans and countless other family members and friends.
Rick will forever be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Memorial Services will be held at 10:00AM. Saturday; April 10, 2021 at Wiley Funeral Home Chapel in Granbury.
