Scott D. Parks

Scott D. Parks, 70, of Springfield, IL died 9:21 pm, Sunday, December 6, 2020 at Memorial Medical Center, with wife and two sons by his side.

He was born on September 13, 1950 at St. Francis Hospital, in Peoria, IL to the late Edwin and Betty (Dixon) Parks. He married his wife of 45 years, Diane K. Yerbic on November 22, 1975, Canton, IL.

He is survived by his wife, Diane; two sons, Jason S. (Rachel) Parks of New Berlin and Justin T. Parks of Springfield; four grandchildren, Jackson, Addison, Ava and Ella Parks; mother, Betty Hurst of Canton; two sisters, Vicki (Bob) Beckner of Miner and Bonnie Sue (Mike) Watkins of Cuba; two step-brothers, Brett (Tammy) Francis of Chino Valley, AZ and Kirk Frances of Hawthorn Woods, IL and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edwin and step-father, Paul Hurst.

He attended Kewanee and Annawan Schools, and Spoon River College, Canton IL.

Scott attended Calvary Church. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #333 and was also a member of the Moose Lodge. He was a United States
Air Force veteran and was trained as a dental technician. He was co-owner and operator of Turf Tech for many years.

He was a proud and devoted father to his sons, and he enjoyed spending time with his four cherished grandchildren and will be fondly remembered by them.

Cremation rites have been accorded and private family services will be held at a later date at Calvary Church.

A Celebration of Life and burial at Camp Butler National Cemetery will also be held at a later date.
