Sarah “Sally” de Saussure Hutson Parker

Sarah de Saussure Hutson Parker, who chose to go by Sally, 89, of East Flat Rock, passed away on Saturday, December 25, 2021, at Tore’s Home of Flat Rock. She was born in Washington, DC to the late Louis and Frances Hutson. She was also proceeded in death by her husband William Parker, her sisters, Elizabeth Faucette and Patricia Merfeld, and her niece Laura Faucette Pitts.

Before living in Hendersonville and Flat Rock, Sally resided in Athens, GA, Waterloo Belgium, Corpus Christi, TX, and many other places. She received a degree in Social Work and worked as the Ombudsman for several counties in Georgia prior to her retirement. She was a member of the St. James Episcopal Church of Hendersonville and Daughters of the King.

Sally is survived by her sons and their spouses, Carlos Ygartua and Mary Tusa of San Jose, CA, and Louis and Elizabeth (Beth) Ygartua of Dallas, TX; and by her grandchildren and their families: Sarah Elizabeth Ygartua and Spencer Knapp, Charles; John and Katie Ygartua; and Hayden Tusa Ygartua; and by nephews Mark Merfeld, Peter Merfeld, Thomas Faucette, and Charles Faucette, and niece, Katherine Faucette Braden.

Arrangements are being handled by Shuler Funeral Home. A service will be held in the Spring of 2022.
